American Airlines is expanding its network by introducing a new route between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Tampico International Airport (TAM) in Mexico. This addition, set to begin in March 2025, enhances the airline’s presence in Mexico, already the largest U.S. carrier serving the country.
New Direct Flights from Dallas to Tampico
Starting on March 5, 2025, travelers will have a direct flight option from DFW to Tampico, offering more convenience. Previously, this route required a stopover in cities like Houston or Monterrey. Now, with this new direct route, passengers can enjoy quicker access to their destination.
Envoy Air Operates the New Route
Envoy Air, a regional subsidiary, will handle these flights under the American Eagle brand. The Embraer E170, accommodating 65 passengers, will be used for this service. With a mix of first-class, economy plus, and standard economy seats, travelers can expect a comfortable journey.
Strengthening Connections in Mexico
Tampico will become the airline’s 31st destination in Mexico, further boosting its reach across the country. This new addition follows earlier expansions to Tulum and Veracruz, as part of the carrier’s commitment to serve more destinations in Mexico.
The Growing Mexico Travel Market
Mexico continues to be a vital market for the airline, especially in leisure travel. Last year, it operated over 63,000 flights between the U.S. and Mexico, serving nearly 10 million passengers. This new route from Dallas to Tampico further strengthens connections between the two countries.
