American Airlines is making waves with its biggest-ever expansion in Mexico. The airline is adding more routes, including a new service to Puerto Escondido, a paradise on the Oaxacan coast. This move strengthens its leadership as the top U.S. airline in Mexico.
Starting December 3, American Airlines will fly to Puerto Escondido (PXM), its 30th destination in the country. No other U.S. airline serves as many Mexican cities. The airline’s extensive network caters to every traveler, from beach lovers and adventure seekers to those reconnecting with family.
Puerto Escondido offers golden beaches, thrilling surf spots, and a vibrant nightlife. Travelers can enjoy fresh seafood, explore hidden coves, or relax in a peaceful coastal retreat. American Airlines will operate flights from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) to PXM twice weekly, every Wednesday and Saturday. The Embraer 175 aircraft, featuring a premium cabin, will ensure a comfortable journey.
Mexico remains the most visited international destination for U.S. travelers, making it a key focus for the airline. Earlier this year, American Airlines launched new flights to Tampico and announced upcoming service from Oklahoma to Cancun. These expansions follow successful route additions in 2024, including Tijuana, Tulum, and Veracruz.
With its growing presence, American Airlines is not just adding destinations—it is creating new travel opportunities. The airline’s strategy highlights its commitment to offering seamless access to Mexico’s most stunning locations. This expansion cements its reputation as the premier choice for travelers heading south of the border.
