American Airlines Raises Over $1.2M for Cystic Fibrosis Research

American Airlines and its partners have once again demonstrated their commitment to fighting cystic fibrosis. At the latest Celebrity Ski event in Beaver Creek, Colorado, they successfully raised over $1.2 million for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Over the years, this annual fundraiser has played a crucial role in supporting medical advancements. As a result, contributions from this event have surpassed $47 million, bringing renewed hope to those affected.

Because cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening condition, continued research is essential. The funds raised will directly support groundbreaking studies focused on finding a cure. Since this disease affects the lungs and pancreas, patients often struggle with severe health challenges. However, thanks to ongoing medical advancements, treatment options have significantly improved. By investing in innovative therapies, the foundation aims to help individuals live longer and healthier lives.

Meanwhile, this year’s event attracted over 450 participants, including volunteers, corporate sponsors, and celebrities. In addition to raising funds, attendees enjoyed skiing with Olympic athletes and watching live performances by popular artists. As a result, the event not only strengthened community support but also increased awareness about the urgent need for a cure. More importantly, it highlighted the power of collaboration in making a meaningful difference.

For more than 40 years, American Airlines has played a key role in supporting breakthroughs. Because of their dedication, scientists have made significant progress in identifying the genetic causes of cystic fibrosis. Moreover, their contributions have helped develop life-changing treatments. Additionally, the airline has donated millions of AAdvantage® miles, allowing charities to raise essential funds through auctions. Without this level of commitment, many critical advancements would not have been possible.

Looking ahead, the partnership between American Airlines and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation remains essential. With each event, they bring researchers closer to a cure while also providing hope to those battling the disease. By continuing to work together, they will make an even greater impact in the fight against cystic fibrosis.
