Arajet, the Dominican Republic’s flag carrier, has expanded its U.S. presence with a new flight. It connects Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). This marks the airline’s first route into the U.S. Midwest and its fifth North American destination, strengthening its market position.
The flight operates three times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays. It offers a direct, nonstop link to one of the Caribbean’s top vacation spots. Punta Cana, famous for its beautiful beaches and lively resort activities, serves as a gateway to the Dominican Republic. From Punta Cana, passengers can connect to major Latin American cities like Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Lima, and Mexico City, expanding Arajet’s regional network.
This new route enhances travel options for passengers in Chicago, home to one of the world’s busiest airports, serving over 80 million travelers yearly. It also provides a direct and affordable service for Chicago’s Dominican community and Latin American nationals. Arajet’s expansion into the U.S. is part of a broader strategy to grow in new markets. The airline already operates routes to Miami, Orlando, and New York.
Arajet is also planning to launch a new U.S. route from Boston in late 2025. This expansion reflects the growing demand for affordable, direct flights between the U.S. and the Caribbean.
