Arajet Expands with New Santo Domingo–Newark Route

Arajet is set to enhance its U.S. presence with a nonstop Santo DomingoNewark route launching in June 2025. As a result, this expansion strengthens air connectivity between the Dominican Republic and the United States, benefiting both business and leisure travelers. By adding Newark to its network, Arajet continues its mission of providing affordable international travel while catering to a growing demand.

Moreover, the airline will operate this new route four times per week using the fuel-efficient Boeing 737 MAX 8. Since this aircraft optimizes fuel use, it ensures a cost-effective and comfortable journey. Additionally, Newark Liberty International Airport becomes Arajet’s third U.S. destination, following Miami and San Juan. This expansion comes after the U.S.-Dominican Republic Open Skies Agreement, which allows more direct routes between both countries and boosts travel opportunities.

Furthermore, Arajet’s entry into the Newark market caters to the large Dominican community in New York and New Jersey. Given the significant demand for direct flights, this new route provides a cost-effective alternative to existing airlines while eliminating unnecessary layovers. With over two million Dominicans in the U.S., more nonstop options are necessary to meet travelers’ needs. Since the Dominican Republic remains a top Caribbean tourist destination, Arajet’s expansion supports tourism growth while ensuring efficient air travel for visitors.

In addition, the airline’s low-cost model differentiates it from traditional carriers by offering budget-friendly fares and direct flights. Because the Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet ensures reliability, fuel efficiency, and passenger comfort, Arajet can expand its services confidently. Looking ahead, the airline plans to introduce new routes to Orlando, Boston, and Houston, while considering long-haul destinations such as Spain.

By 2026, Arajet aims to double its fleet and enter new global markets. Consequently, with a growing network and competitive pricing, the airline is reshaping travel in the Americas. Its continued expansion will make international flights more accessible and affordable for passengers worldwide.
