Austrian Airlines Simplifies Milan Travel with Direct Linate Flights This Winter

Austrian Airlines announced a key upgrade for winter 2025/26. The airline will shift its Milan route from Malpensa to Linate starting October 26. As a result, passengers will enjoy faster access to Milan’s business center. This move also reactivates the Vienna-Milan Linate route, which paused in 2021. Therefore, Austrian Airlines strengthens its grip on one of Europe’s busiest corridors.

Moreover, the new service includes 26 weekly flights. The airline offers options throughout the day to match different travel needs. These frequent flights improve planning for both business and leisure passengers. In addition, Linate’s closer location reduces transit times into Milan. Because of this, the airline expects to attract more time-conscious travelers.

This shift reflects a larger European trend. Airlines now choose airports near city centers to boost convenience. Consequently, Austrian Airlines gains a strategic edge over its competitors. Business travelers especially benefit from direct access to Milan’s financial core. That, in turn, increases loyalty and long-term growth.

Besides convenience, the airline invests in fleet flexibility. The route uses Airbus A320s and Embraer E95s, which balance capacity with comfort. Therefore, Austrian Airlines meets customer demands without losing efficiency. The choice of aircraft also ensures high reliability across all flight times.

As travel rebounds across Europe, Austrian Airlines continues to adapt. This shift to Linate shows strong confidence in Italy’s travel market. More importantly, it aligns with evolving passenger habits. Travelers now value time savings and smooth connections more than ever. For that reason, Austrian Airlines remains focused on high-impact routes with strong demand.
