Azerbaijan Airlines is gearing up to strengthen its presence in India with a major announcement. Launching in July 2025, the airline will introduce direct Baku–Ahmedabad flights, deepening ties between Gujarat and the Caucasus. This marks a bold step after successful connections with Delhi and Mumbai. Azerbaijan Airlines aims to capture India’s booming outbound tourism, especially from Gujarat’s thriving economic center.
The flights will run four times a week, operated by Airbus A320 aircraft. Timings are crafted to ensure smooth onward journeys across Europe, Russia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Travelers from Ahmedabad will now enjoy easier access to Baku’s vibrant culture and the broader region’s attractions.
The carrier already offers connections to Delhi and Mumbai with growing frequencies. With Ahmedabad joining the network, Azerbaijan Airlines strengthens its South Asia footprint, offering 11 weekly flights in total. The surge in Indian travelers visiting Azerbaijan for leisure and business has encouraged this strategic expansion.
Ahmedabad, known for its dynamic tourism market, offers immense potential. Its affluent travelers constantly seek seamless international connections. The new route not only supports tourism but also boosts trade and cultural exchanges between India and Azerbaijan. The simplified visa process further fuels this positive trend.
Looking ahead, Azerbaijan Airlines plans to enhance services across India. It could introduce more flights or new destinations to meet the rising demand. With this new chapter, both countries set the stage for stronger people-to-people connections, greater business collaborations, and an exciting travel future.
