Previously, Southwest Airlines limited its ticket sales to its official website. However, with changing market dynamics, the airline is adapting to reach new customers. In 2024, it introduced its flights on Google Flights, KAYAK, and Skyscanner. Now, with Expedia’s advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence, the airline aims to attract more travelers while maintaining cost efficiency.
This collaboration allows Southwest Airlines to increase visibility and boost ticket sales through one of the world’s largest online travel agencies. By leveraging Expedia’s daily traffic of millions of users, the airline can tap into a broader customer base. Travelers who previously booked through OTAs can now easily choose Southwest Airlines, giving the airline access to untapped markets.
