Breeze Airways Eyes Hawaii Expansion with New Pacific Routes

Breeze Airways plans to expand its operations with new routes connecting the West Coast to Hawaii. Known for serving secondary cities and underserved markets, the airline is preparing to enter transoceanic flight services. To achieve this, Breeze Airways is working on securing certifications, including ETOPS, which ensures operational readiness for extended overwater routes. This development aligns with the airline’s goal to launch long-haul flights by late next year.

The airline has experienced rapid growth, introducing 89 new routes and 29 cities this year. This expansion boosted available seat capacity by 50% compared to the previous year. Breeze Airways has strategically built its network to avoid direct competition, with over 85% of its routes operating exclusively. These moves have strengthened its market presence and fueled plans for new ventures, such as flights to Hawaii.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) emerges as a key contender for launching Hawaii routes, given its strategic location near Silicon Valley and downtown San Francisco. While Breeze typically serves smaller airports, it recognizes SFO’s advantages for connecting passengers to Hawaii. The airline is also evaluating other cities, including Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and San Diego, as potential gateways.

Beyond Hawaii, the airline aims to secure flag carrier status for transatlantic flights. This milestone will allow Breeze Airways to expand its international network, including potential seasonal routes to secondary cities in the British Isles. These plans highlight the airline’s commitment to diversifying its offerings and establishing itself as a key player in long-haul travel. Breeze Airways is determined to maintain growth while venturing into new markets, showcasing its innovative approach to air travel.
