British Airways is expanding its Italian routes with three new direct flights starting in May 2025. The airline will connect London Heathrow to Rimini, located on Italy’s Adriatic coast. Additionally, it will start a service from London Gatwick to Salerno on the Amalfi Coast. A new route from London City Airport to Olbia in Sardinia will offer more travel options.
These new routes bring British Airways’ Italian destinations to 19, solidifying its leadership in European travel. With more travelers flocking to Italy’s coastal gems, British Airways meets the demand with these fresh options.
Starting 15 May 2025, British Airways will fly to Rimini (RMI), known for its sandy beaches and clear waters. The service will run three times weekly, offering a perfect getaway. Rimini’s rich history includes landmarks like the Arch of Augustus, built in the Roman era. Visitors can also explore nearby San Marino, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
From 22 May 2025, British Airways will operate a new service to Salerno (QSR). Salerno sits along the scenic Amalfi Coast, offering a mix of history and beauty. The city boasts lively piazzas and Mediterranean charm, while nearby towns like Positano and Ravello feature stunning sea views and luxury resorts.
British Airways will also launch flights to Olbia (OLB) in Sardinia starting 25 May 2025. Olbia is known for its stunning beaches, rich history, and delicious food. This coastal city will join Cagliari as the airline’s second Sardinian destination, inviting travelers to enjoy the island’s natural beauty and cuisine.
