Delta Air Lines opened a new pilot training center in Salt Lake City, strengthening its presence in the West. The 50,000-square-foot facility is near Salt Lake City Airport, expanding Delta’s network beyond its Atlanta base. This move supports Delta’s growth in key markets and its increasing demand for pilot training.
The new center will provide efficient and accessible training for pilots in Delta’s western hubs. It features advanced simulators, training equipment, classrooms, briefing rooms, and emergency training areas. The center will host over 1,000 training sessions every month.
Although Delta invested heavily in its Atlanta headquarters, this new facility diversifies its training infrastructure. It ensures that Delta meets the growing demand for skilled pilots. The facility complements Delta’s existing flight attendant training programs at Salt Lake City Airport.
Delta also strengthens its Salt Lake City operations with 240 peak-day flights. These flights connect nearly 90 destinations worldwide, including major cities like London, Paris, and Amsterdam. In 2025, Delta will launch a non-stop route to Seoul, further expanding its network.
Delta plans to normalize pilot hiring by 2025. It expects to hire nearly 5,000 pilots that year, following a slowdown in 2024 recruitment. As demand for aviation professionals grows, Delta leads the way in training and recruitment.
