Delta Airlines is making winter travel to Hawaii more convenient with a new nonstop flight from Salt Lake City to Kona. This seasonal service will launch on December 19, 2025, and run until March 28, 2026. Travelers looking for an easy route to the Hawaiian Islands will benefit from this direct connection. The Boeing 767-300ER will operate the flights, though some aircraft may not include the Premium Select recliner cabin.
Kona becomes the third Hawaiian destination linked to Salt Lake City, joining Honolulu and Maui. Delta Airlines is strengthening its presence in the region by expanding direct flights. The airline already connects Kona with Los Angeles and Seattle-Tacoma, making travel more seamless for passengers. Due to increasing demand, Delta will boost its overall Salt Lake City operations by 5% in early 2025, further cementing the airport’s role as a key travel hub.
To meet growing demand, Delta Airlines is also increasing capacity on several Hawaii-bound routes. Travelers from Atlanta to Maui will see seasonal A330-300 service begin earlier than usual. Flights from Atlanta to Honolulu will operate twice daily during the holiday season. A new daily route from Salt Lake City to Maui will start in October 2025, catering to peak travel times. Meanwhile, the Minneapolis-St. Paul to Honolulu route will transition to the Airbus A330-300, offering more premium seating options.
As part of its broader expansion, Delta Airlines is also upgrading its Salt Lake City base. A new Delta Sky Club, one of the airline’s largest lounges, will soon open, enhancing the airport experience. With these strategic changes, Delta aims to dominate the Hawaii travel market, offering more choices and better services for winter vacationers.
