Delta Air Lines is boosting travel options to French Polynesia by extending its seasonal service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Papeete (PPT). Originally set to end in March 2025, this route will now continue until June 7, 2025. The decision reflects the airline’s confidence in growing demand for this destination.
Travelers from the US West Coast now have more flexibility for visiting French Polynesia. Delta Air Lines will operate the route from October 2024 until early June 2025. The extension gives passengers additional time to explore this sunny destination. Delta aims to accommodate increased demand, offering more flights to this tropical paradise.
Delta’s Boeing 767 will serve the LAX to Papeete route. With this extension, Delta competes with Air France and Air Tahiti Nui. These airlines already offer services between Los Angeles and Papeete. Delta’s expanded schedule will provide travelers with more options as demand rises. In June alone, Delta will offer 28 round-trip flights.
Faaʻa International Airport, the main gateway to French Polynesia, connects to several cities. These include Seattle, San Francisco, and Honolulu. The airport also offers routes to Auckland and Bora Bora. Delta Air Lines’ extension strengthens its international presence, enhancing connections for travelers to the South Pacific islands.
Firstly, this expansion is part of Delta Air Lines’ broader growth strategy. Moreover, the airline recently added new routes from its Boston hub. Additionally, Delta plans to launch more flights in spring 2025, including destinations like Myrtle Beach and Pensacola. Furthermore, Delta is preparing for its largest-ever transatlantic expansion. New flights to Naples, Brussels, and Catania are set to launch soon, further showcasing Delta’s global reach.
