Africa’s aviation sector is evolving rapidly, and Delta is at the forefront of this expansion. The airline is launching its first direct flights to Marrakech while also increasing service to Accra. As a result, travelers from over 125 U.S. cities will enjoy easier access to these vibrant destinations.
Delta’s new route to Marrakech begins on October 25, 2025, marking a significant milestone in its African operations. Since Morocco has gained global popularity, this addition strengthens Delta’s presence in the region. Moreover, Marrakech’s UNESCO-listed medina and lively souks make it an ideal destination for tourists seeking a cultural experience.
At the same time, Delta is enhancing connectivity to Ghana by introducing daily seasonal flights from Atlanta to Accra. Starting December 1, 2025, this route will offer more flexibility, especially during peak winter travel months. Given that Accra remains a crucial hub for U.S.-Africa travel, these expanded flights will significantly improve convenience for passengers.
Furthermore, Delta is ensuring a premium travel experience with top-tier aircraft. The Atlanta-Marrakech route will operate three times per week using the Boeing 767-400ER, featuring various cabin options for different travel needs. Meanwhile, the Atlanta-Accra flights will utilize the Airbus A330-900neo, which also serves the airline’s JFK-Accra route. This modern aircraft provides Delta One Suites, ensuring maximum comfort for long-haul travelers.
Since entering the African market in 2006, Delta has steadily increased its presence. With these latest expansions, the airline is reinforcing its role as a key player in transatlantic travel. By improving accessibility and enhancing service quality, Delta continues to cater to the growing demand for seamless travel between the U.S. and Africa.
