Delta Ramp Agents Busted Smuggling Ketamine at New York-JFK Airport!

Two Delta Air Lines ramp agents were arrested for smuggling $3 million worth of ketamine at JFK Airport. The agents, Leandro Alleyne and Fabian Innis were caught on September 19. Authorities found them handling suspicious luggage from a flight from Copenhagen, Denmark. This incident has raised questions about security at Delta Air Lines, especially after several recent drug-related cases.

Innis admitted to smuggling drugs at least five to ten times before. Both he and Alleyne had participated in the illegal operation. Innis said he had been paid up to $5,000 for each trip. However, he claimed he didn’t know the luggage contained ketamine. This repeated activity over time indicates a larger issue that needs to be addressed.

The discovery of 134 pounds of ketamine inside the luggage is significant. Ketamine is a drug often used medically, but it is increasingly linked to illegal use. The agents had no permission to handle the bags they were caught with. Investigators believe this smuggling attempt might not be isolated. The involvement of different passengers’ names on the luggage tags suggests a broader operation. This has led to more scrutiny of Delta Air Lines’ security protocols.

Alleyne and Innis now face charges of drug smuggling. Both pleaded not guilty but were released on bail. Authorities are continuing the investigation. Meanwhile, the airline faces many questions about how these agents bypassed internal checks. Delta Air Lines has confirmed they take this breach seriously and stress their zero-tolerance stance against unlawful actions.
