Discover Airlines is broadening its global network with a new direct flight route from Munich to Windhoek, Namibia. This move follows the airline’s recent launch of its Orlando route in March, marking a significant milestone in its long-haul expansion. As part of the Lufthansa Group, Discover Airlines strengthens its position in the international aviation market, enhancing its service offerings from Munich Airport.
Windhoek, Namibia’s capital, stands as a major gateway for travelers exploring southern Africa. The city’s mix of political, cultural, and economic influence makes it a hub for tourists. It offers easy access to Namibia’s natural wonders, such as the Etosha National Park and the Namib Desert with its stunning red dunes. These features make Windhoek an excellent base for those seeking adventure and unforgettable landscapes.
The connection between Germany and Namibia runs deep, with strong ties in energy transition, conservation, and education. These bonds enhance Windhoek’s appeal to German-speaking travelers. For them, the city offers a blend of cultural experiences and adventure, enriching their journey through Namibia.
Starting in April, Discover Airlines will operate the Windhoek route three times a week. Flights will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and then increase to daily service in May. This new destination adds to the airline’s growing portfolio of intercontinental routes, with Calgary, Canada, joining the network in mid-April. Through these new services, Discover Airlines continues to connect Europe to some of the most captivating destinations worldwide.
