Discover Airlines is transforming Munich into a major hub for long-haul travel with its latest expansion. As part of this growth, the airline has introduced direct flights to Orlando, Windhoek, and Calgary, offering seamless connectivity from Germany’s second-largest airport. These new routes mark an important step in strengthening the airline’s presence in the region.
Starting March 5, travelers can finally fly non-stop from Munich to Orlando, a first for the airport. Shortly after, on April 1, flights to Windhoek, Namibia, will begin. Then, on April 12, direct service to Calgary, Canada, will launch. Since convenience is a priority, both Orlando and Windhoek will have three weekly flights throughout the year. Meanwhile, Calgary will also operate thrice weekly until winter, when Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic will take its place.
Furthermore, Discover Airlines continues to grow in Munich with an expanded fleet and more destinations. The airline, which is part of the Lufthansa Group, has already been serving short- and medium-haul routes from the city since last spring. In addition to this, the fleet will soon grow to eight aircraft, including two A330s for long-haul flights and six A320s for regional travel. As a result, the airline will offer over 80 weekly departures to 32 destinations.
Moreover, passengers can now explore more locations, from the sun-soaked Mediterranean to scenic Nordic getaways like Iceland and Norway. Since demand for travel is rising, this expansion strengthens the airline’s position as the leading leisure carrier in Munich. In turn, travelers will enjoy more choices, better accessibility, and seamless travel experiences.
Ultimately, Munich’s airport now connects to four exciting destinations, offering direct flights for the first time or after a long break. Because of this, the city’s status as a key travel hub continues to grow. At the same time, Discover Airlines cements itself as a dominant player in the leisure travel market.
