EasyJet Expands Boldly with New Marrakech Base

EasyJet is accelerating its expansion in Morocco with a new operational base in Marrakech, set to open in spring 2026. As a result, this strategic move marks a major milestone in EasyJet’s journey as the airline strengthens its presence across North Africa. With this expansion, three new aircraft will join the Marrakech base, helping EasyJet deliver a record 4 million seats in its first year. In turn, this development reshapes Morocco’s air travel landscape and reinforces EasyJet’s leadership within the growing Moroccan aviation market.

Furthermore, EasyJet’s new base will inject fresh energy into Morocco’s economy. By doing so, the airline will create direct employment for local workers and generate thousands of indirect jobs in tourism and logistics. Consequently, this expansion enhances Morocco’s tourism infrastructure, drives growth in visitor numbers, and strengthens the country’s economic foundation.

Additionally, the airline’s updated network will link Marrakech to more European cities, including Hamburg, Lille, and Strasbourg, starting in summer 2026. At the same time, EasyJet will introduce a new route between Geneva and Tangier to boost regional access. Moreover, increased flight frequencies on existing routes will give travelers greater flexibility for both business and leisure trips.

In collaboration with the Moroccan National Tourism Office, EasyJet supports Morocco’s tourism ambitions. Through this partnership, the airline makes Morocco more accessible to European travelers. As a result, the collaboration attracts visitors eager to explore Morocco’s diverse attractions—from Marrakech’s vibrant souks to Tangier’s scenic coastline.

Ultimately, the new Marrakech base will benefit not only Morocco but also EasyJet’s European operations. By establishing this hub, the airline unlocks capacity at crowded airports and improves efficiency across its network. Therefore, EasyJet ensures consistent connectivity, affordable fares, and stronger ties between Europe and Morocco.
