Emirates Is Back in the Sky to Damascus — Here’s What That Means for Your UAE-Syria Trips

Emirates has announced the return of its flights to Damascus starting July 16, 2025. This bold step comes after a 13-year suspension and clearly signals the airline’s trust in the improving regional stability. Moreover, Emirates aims to deepen economic and travel ties between the UAE and Syria through this move.

The new service will significantly enhance air travel connectivity between Dubai and Damascus, providing an important bridge for business and family travel. Initially launching three flights a week, Emirates plans to scale operations to daily services by late October. These flights will use Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, offering both comfort and capacity to serve growing demand.

This development aligns perfectly with Emirates’ broader goal of regional integration. In fact, the airline continues to expand its Middle East operations, currently flying to 13 major cities in the region. Therefore, the reintroduction of Damascus on the route map reflects its confidence in renewed demand and market recovery.

Travelers on this route can expect to enjoy Emirates’ premium onboard experience. For example, the airline serves Levantine-inspired cuisine and offers a vast entertainment library. The inflight entertainment system provides thousands of options, including hundreds in Arabic, ensuring a personalized journey for all passengers.

Furthermore, the partnership between Emirates and flydubai will boost flexibility for travelers. This collaboration opens smoother connections to and from smaller cities across the region. As travel recovers, these partnerships matter more than ever.

Since Syria’s economic revival depends heavily on foreign investment and skilled labor movement, this new air link will encourage both. Additionally, the large Syrian diaspora living in the UAE will now find it easier to travel home, invest, and rebuild ties. Consequently, Emirates’ decision reflects a calculated and strategic commitment to this future.
