Emirates will introduce its newly refurbished Boeing 777s to several major US routes starting November 2024. The airline’s latest upgrade aims to enhance passenger comfort and improve the overall travel experience.
Upgrades on the Refurbished Boeing 777s
The updated Boeing 777s feature several improvements. Emirates adds premium economy seating in a 2-4-2 layout. The business class now offers a 1-2-1 configuration for direct aisle access. Other upgrades are present in economy and first class as well.
US Routes and Launch Dates
Starting November 1, 2024, Emirates will deploy refurbished Boeing 777s on the Chicago route (EK235/236). Initially, flights will operate thrice weekly and increase to daily from November 22, 2024. Boston will receive the new aircraft from December 10, 2024, with flights EK237/238 also operating thrice weekly and daily from December 18.
Dallas/Fort Worth will see the refurbished aircraft starting January 9, 2025. Flights EK221/222 will operate three times a week and daily from January 15. Seattle joins the list on January 24, 2025, with daily flights under EK229/230.
Newark via Athens will get the upgraded Boeing 777s from February 10, 2025. Flights to Miami and Bogotá will start on February 19, 2025. Bogotá will see four weekly flights initially, rising to daily by March 1, 2025.
Expanded Premium Economy Service
By February 2025, Emirates’ premium economy service will reach 12 of its 19 Americas gateways. This expansion aims to offer increased luxury and comfort to travelers beyond Dubai.
The partnership with United Airlines enhances this experience, providing seamless connections to domestic and international destinations. The collaboration, active since October 2023, benefits travelers on multiple routes.
Future Plans for Aircraft Upgrades
Emirates plans to deploy the four-class layout across 48 aircraft by the end of 2024. This includes Boeing 777s, A380s, and Airbus A350s.
