Emirates has announced exciting news for travelers between Melbourne and Dubai. Starting March 30, 2025, the airline will introduce a third nonstop service on this route, replacing a one-stop flight via Singapore. This new service will operate on a newly refurbished Boeing 777-300ER, which features a four-class cabin with Emirates’ latest Premium Economy product and upgraded business class seats. Consequently, the aircraft will offer even more options for passengers seeking comfort and luxury.
Currently, Emirates operates two daily nonstop flights between Melbourne and Dubai using Airbus A380s. Additionally, a third service that connects through Singapore will soon be replaced by this new nonstop option. As a result, all three daily flights from Melbourne to Dubai will offer passengers a choice of first, business, premium, or economy class. Therefore, this addition strengthens Emirates’ presence in Melbourne, making travel between Dubai and Melbourne even more convenient.
The new Boeing 777-300ER service will operate flights EK404/405. Specifically, Flight EK404 departs Dubai at 21:15 and arrives in Melbourne at 17:40 the following day. Then, the return flight, EK405, leaves Melbourne at 23:55 and arrives in Dubai at 07:00. This upgraded service reflects the growing demand for Emirates’ Premium Economy, which will offer 3,472 premium economy seats across Melbourne and Sydney each week.
Emirates’ Premium Economy cabins, which were named ‘Best in Class’ at the 2024 Business Traveller Asia-Pacific awards, provide superior comfort. Passengers will enjoy wider, adjustable seats with ample legroom, making long-haul flights more relaxing. Moreover, business class travelers will experience flatbeds with direct aisle access, a mini-bar, and top-notch entertainment.
With this new service, Emirates fully restores its pre-COVID Australian capacity, offering nearly 12,000 weekly seats to and from Perth. This marks another step toward enhancing connectivity across the region and offering customers even more choices in premium travel. Consequently, Emirates continues to strengthen its position as a leading airline, catering to passengers seeking world-class experiences.
