Emirates Urges Early Arrival As January Travel Surge Looms

Emirates has issued a travel warning as January’s travel surge approaches. The airline urges passengers to arrive at Dubai International Airport four hours before their flight. With millions expected to travel from January 2 to January 5, early planning will help ensure a smoother experience.

Emirates recommends arriving early to avoid stress. With heavy crowds expected, extra time is crucial for completing immigration, security checks, and boarding. Passengers should aim to reach the gate one hour before departure to avoid rushing.

The airline also encourages travelers to use biometric smart gates. This system speeds up immigration with facial recognition. Passengers can register for this service through the Emirates app up to two days before their flight.

Emirates offers a City Check-In service, allowing travelers to drop off luggage up to 24 hours before departure. Passengers can earn 2,500 Emirates Skywards miles per checked bag during peak travel times. The service is available at locations like the Dubai International Financial Centre.

First-class passengers and Platinum Skywards members can use Emirates’ home luggage collection service. This service collects luggage up to 24 hours before departure. Marhaba also offers a similar option for other travelers.

Emirates advises passengers to check for restricted items, especially power banks, which are subject to stricter rules. Travelers should review the airline’s guidelines to avoid delays. These steps help ensure a smooth airport experience.
