Etihad Airways Expands with New Route to Indonesia

Etihad Airways has officially opened bookings for its new direct flights to Medan, Indonesia. This route, launching on October 2, 2025, will connect Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport with Kualanamu International Airport, making travel more convenient for passengers.

Medan, the largest city in North Sumatra, attracts visitors with its rich cultural heritage, diverse cuisine, and historical landmarks. Since tourism in the region continues to grow, this new route will provide more travel opportunities. Additionally, Etihad Airways will operate these flights using its advanced Airbus A321LR aircraft, ensuring a comfortable journey.

Flights from Abu Dhabi will take off at night and land in Medan early in the morning. Meanwhile, return flights from Medan will depart in the morning and arrive in Abu Dhabi by midday. This schedule is designed to enhance connectivity, especially for travelers heading to Europe. As a result, passengers will experience smoother and faster connections.

Moreover, this expansion is part of Etihad Airways’ ambitious 2025 growth plan. The airline has already announced 14 new destinations across Asia, Africa, and North America. Since demand for international travel is increasing, these routes will help strengthen global connectivity. Notably, many of these flights will be the only non-stop options available from the UAE.

Etihad Airways expects 2025 to be a record-breaking year, with passenger numbers set to double. Furthermore, the airline will expand its fleet, increasing the number of operating aircraft to accommodate rising demand. Because of these strategic moves, Etihad Airways aims to enhance travel experiences while reinforcing its position as a leading global airline.

In addition, the airline is reportedly preparing for a multi-billion-dollar public offering. This move reflects its commitment to long-term growth and innovation. As a result, travelers can expect more destinations, better connections, and superior service from Etihad Airways in the coming years.
