Etihad Airways Issues Urgent Advisory for Eid Travelers

Etihad Airways is urging passengers to plan ahead for smooth travel during the upcoming Eid Al Fitr celebrations. With a surge in travelers expected at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport, the airline is advising early check-in and digital services to avoid delays.

The airline anticipates high passenger traffic from March to August due to major events, including Eid Al Fitr, the Hajj season, and Eid Al Adha. Additionally, school vacations in spring and summer will further increase travel demand. To ease congestion, Etihad Airways is encouraging travelers to check in early and use online services.

Passengers should arrive at the airport at least four hours before departure to ensure a hassle-free experience. Online check-in opens 48 hours before takeoff, allowing travelers to complete formalities in advance. Those who check in online can use self-service bag drops at the airport for quick baggage processing. For added convenience, off-airport check-in locations in Abu Dhabi, Yas Mall, Mussafah, and Al Ain offer early baggage drop-off.

Home check-in is also available through MORAFIQ, starting at Dh185. This service allows passengers to check in their luggage, choose seats, and receive boarding passes at home up to five hours before departure.

Etihad Airways is offering additional services to enhance travel comfort. Economy passengers can purchase extra legroom for a more comfortable journey. Those seeking privacy can opt for neighbor-free seating up to 72 hours before departure. Premium lounge access is also available for purchase before flights.

Travelers flying to the United States must arrive at Terminal A at least four hours before departure. First and Business Class passengers should check in at the US Preclearance facility 90 minutes before departure, while others must arrive at least two hours before. The facility closes one hour before takeoff.

In 2023, Abu Dhabi’s aviation hubs handled 29.4 million passengers, and this number is expected to grow in the coming years. With early planning and digital check-in options, travelers can ensure a seamless journey during peak travel periods.
