AirAsia has introduced a bold travel offer to celebrate National Journalists’ Day (HAWANA) 2025. As part of this celebration, the airline gives a 50% discount on return base fares to 57 ASEAN destinations. This offer, however, is only for registered Malaysian journalists.
Since Malaysia chairs ASEAN in 2025, this move aligns with national goals. In fact, AirAsia supports both media freedom and stronger regional bonds through this campaign. Moreover, it highlights the role of journalism in building cultural understanding across Southeast Asia.
AirAsia also takes this chance to thank the press for years of support. Journalists have covered the airline’s journey from startup to regional giant. As a result, AirAsia rewards their dedication with greater travel access and freedom.
Furthermore, the airline will launch a special aircraft livery later this year. This livery pays tribute to Malaysian journalism icons. It also symbolizes the powerful link between journalists and the communities they serve.
In addition, AirAsia will work with media partners to promote responsible travel stories. These stories will explore ASEAN’s rich culture, lesser-known locations, and unique heritage. Consequently, travelers will gain deeper insight into the region’s diversity.
More importantly, this initiative helps journalists share impactful stories across borders. It supports their work during uncertain global times when truthful reporting matters most. Through this effort, AirAsia blends storytelling with regional connectivity.
Clearly, the airline believes informed voices shape stronger societies. Therefore, this campaign goes beyond discounts. It uplifts media, builds trust, and unites ASEAN through travel and shared stories.
