Experience Korean Air’s Premium Class—Where Luxury is Bigger, But Economy Seats are Smaller

Korean Air launched its new Premium Class, a big upgrade for travelers. This class sits between economy and business. It will first appear on Boeing 777-300ER flights from Incheon to Singapore. The premium option promises more space and better amenities, but it has sparked concerns about the economy class.

Premium Class offers more comfort, with better legroom, top service, and modern interiors. However, it also redesigns the economy section. The airline changed the economy layout from 3-3-3 to 3-4-3. This change adds more seats but reduces space. Passengers and advocacy groups are worried about the impact on comfort.

The new layout will feature 40 Premium Class seats in a 2-4-2 configuration. This gives more space than economy. Critics, however, feel the promotion of Premium Class overlooks tighter economy seats. The airline defends the changes, saying they align with industry trends and do not affect safety or service quality.

Even with the benefits of Premium Class, the tighter economy seating has drawn criticism. Many argue that the airline’s push for more capacity compromises comfort. Korean Air must balance commercial goals with passenger satisfaction. Feedback from travelers will be essential in shaping future decisions.

The airline plans to roll out the service on September 17, 2025. It will then expand to other routes. As more passengers experience the changes, Korean Air must address economy seating concerns while promoting its upgraded Premium Class.
