airBaltic and Air Canada have joined forces to enhance travel between North America and the Baltic region. This strategic partnership strengthened through an expanded codeshare agreement, not only opens up new routes but also offers seamless travel options for passengers. By integrating their networks, these airlines provide greater convenience for travelers flying between these regions.
The new codeshare agreement allows Air Canada passengers to access airBaltic’s extensive routes throughout the Baltic area. Now, travelers can book a single ticket that covers both airlines, simplifying connections through Riga. For instance, notable routes operated by Air Canada include Montreal to Amsterdam, Toronto to Copenhagen, and Toronto to Stockholm. Similarly, airBaltic enhances its offerings with routes such as Riga to Frankfurt and Tallinn to Brussels, which significantly improve travel logistics for those with complex itineraries.
A significant highlight of this collaboration is airBaltic’s introduction of direct flights from Riga to Rzeszów, Poland, starting November 8. This new route is crucial for Ukrainians needing travel options amidst ongoing geopolitical challenges. Moreover, the Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport, located about 440 miles from the Ukrainian border, serves as a key access point. Therefore, travelers from cities like Kyiv and Lviv can easily reach RZE via bus or train.
This new air connection not only enhances regional transportation but also addresses the need for international flights. It effectively fills a gap in commercial aviation while integrating well with existing ground transport networks. As a result, passengers can seamlessly access airBaltic’s European network and broaden their travel possibilities.
airBaltic operates the new Riga-Rzeszów service with its Airbus A220-300 aircraft, reflecting the airline’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability. This fleet choice allows for a flight time of approximately three and a half hours, which is quite convenient for travelers. Currently, airBaltic’s fleet consists entirely of A220-300s, and the airline plans to expand this to 100 aircraft by 2030. Consequently, airBaltic ensures a modern and sustainable travel experience for all its passengers.
