Fly Direct to Mexico City with WestJet’s New Calgary Route

WestJet is enhancing travel options with a new direct route from Calgary to Mexico City. Starting May 14, residents of Calgary will have access to five weekly non-stop flights from Calgary International Airport (YYC) to Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico’s vibrant capital.

This new connection marks the return of direct flights between Calgary and Mexico City, a service last provided in 2018. As one of the world’s largest cities, Mexico City boasts a population of over 20 million people. WestJet’s decision to reinstate this route highlights the airline’s ongoing commitment to expanding its reach in Mexico.

Through its partnership with Aeromexico, which has existed since 2011, WestJet is solidifying its ties to the Mexican market. The airline continues to grow its presence in Mexico, offering Canadians greater access to a range of destinations. With this new route, passengers can easily connect to popular Mexican cities like Chihuahua, Guadalajara, and Monterrey, among others.

The airline group, which includes Sunwing Airlines, plans to link 13 destinations in Mexico with 24 Canadian airports this year. This expansion offers travelers more options for seamless connections. Last year, WestJet facilitated over 46 daily flights between Canada and Mexico, transporting more than 2.6 million passengers.

This new direct flight service aligns with WestJet’s broader strategy to enhance international connectivity. Travelers flying from Calgary to Mexico City can expect a smooth journey with the added benefit of further connections to cities across Mexico. WestJet’s new route underscores its dedication to providing Canadians with accessible, reliable, and convenient travel options.
