The Airbus A321 remains a favorite in aviation, especially its Neo, LR, and XLR variants. In November, the XLR variant will debut on select routes and exciting travelers. Notably, Iberia, the launch customer, will operate the XLR mainly from Madrid to London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle. After these initial flights, the airline will expand to Boston in November and Washington Dulles in January. This expansion forms part of eight expected XLR routes this season.
Beyond these routes, several amazing one-stop Airbus A321 flights stand out for their impressive distances. Here are some of the longest one-stop A321 routes scheduled for November.
Firstly, the longest route spans 4,104 nautical miles from Malé to Munich via Dubai Al Maktoum. Beyond operates this A321neo flight, which represents the longest A321 journey overall. Additionally, it runs twice weekly and offers a luxurious all-business-class configuration with 68 seats. This route began in November 2023, thus elevating the flying experience for travelers.
Next, the 3,940 nautical mile journey from Lisbon to Manaus includes a stop in Belém. TAP Air Portugal will start this A321LR service on November 4, operating three times weekly. Consequently, this route will be the longest regularly configured Airbus A321 flight, highlighting TAP’s commitment to connecting Europe with Brazil.
In addition, Azores Airlines features another long route of 3,450 nautical miles from Boston to Praia, also with a stop in Ponta Delgada. It operates three times weekly and serves the large Cabo Verdean community in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Finally, TAP Air Portugal will operate a 3,262 nautical-mile flight from Lisbon to Maceió via Natal, running three times weekly. Therefore, TAP focuses on connecting Europe and Brazil while maintaining a strong presence in these markets.
On November 4, TAP will resume flights to Manaus after a brief pause, using the A321LR. This route highlights TAP’s dedication to expanding its Brazilian network. Importantly, the flight includes a stop in Belém and takes 11 hours and 45 minutes, providing a smooth connection for passengers.
