Fly Nepal Airlines: The First Direct Link Between Kathmandu and Guangzhou

Nepal Airlines has launched direct flights from Kathmandu to Guangzhou, thereby strengthening links between Nepal and China. This milestone immediately expands the airline’s international presence while also improving travel options for tourists, professionals, and expatriates. As a result, Nepal Airlines reinforces its strategy of growing international reach.

The first flight lifted off on September 27, after a short delay earlier that week. Consequently, the aircraft carried over 100 passengers to Guangzhou and returned to Kathmandu the following day. From now on, regular operations will run three times weekly, with flights scheduled on Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesdays. Therefore, travelers gain reliable service connecting Kathmandu with one of China’s most dynamic cities.

Nepal Airlines has introduced competitive fares to attract travelers, and this approach ensures wider accessibility. The one-way ticket costs Rs 30,000, while the round-trip option costs Rs 50,000. Moreover, affordable pricing supports growing demand and encourages more Nepali passengers to select direct flights. In addition, the convenience of skipping layovers makes the route even more attractive for passengers.

Guangzhou holds major strategic importance because it serves as a key hub for business and culture. Furthermore, the city hosts a sizable Nepali community, which increases demand for the connection. Direct connectivity benefits entrepreneurs, workers, and tourists, while it also promotes bilateral economic ties. As a result, the new link will likely boost tourism flows in both directions.

Nepal Airlines currently operates four Airbus aircraft, which consistently service its international routes. With Guangzhou included, the carrier now serves 11 destinations across nine countries. Therefore, the addition demonstrates confidence in Nepal’s role as a travel gateway in South Asia. Moreover, the airline has hinted at further expansion toward new Asian and global markets.

Looking ahead, Nepal Airlines has signaled its intent to continue broadening its network aggressively. Routes under consideration include Seoul, Sydney, and Tel Aviv, which reflect its ambitious outlook. Consequently, these possible destinations would position the airline as a stronger competitor across Asia and beyond. In conclusion, with rising tourism demand and business opportunities, Nepal Airlines continues to accelerate consistent growth.
