Qantas plans to enhance domestic and short-haul international travel with a major Boeing 737 cabin upgrade. This investment improves comfort and modernizes the inflight experience. The airline ensures these upgrades match its new domestic fleet for a seamless journey.
Qantas will refurbish 42 Boeing 737 aircraft. The upgrade includes new seating, larger overhead lockers, and a refreshed cabin. Business class seats provide extra comfort, while economy seats improve ergonomics. Updated lighting, new carpets, and redesigned sidewalls create a modern atmosphere. Passengers will also enjoy fast, free Wi-Fi on all upgraded planes.
The first refurbished aircraft will enter service in 2027. These planes will operate on domestic routes, trans-Tasman flights, and international trips to Bali, Fiji, and Vanuatu. The upgrade aligns with Qantas’ strategy to renew its fleet and enhance passenger comfort.
Qantas is also adding Airbus A321XLR aircraft to replace older Boeing 737s. The A321XLR offers more seats, extra legroom, and expanded storage. These aircraft will begin service in June, with four expected by year-end.
The airline continues investing in fleet modernization. It has over 100 new aircraft on order and plans to upgrade 80 existing planes. As newer planes enter service, Qantas will phase out older aircraft to maintain a high-quality travel experience.
Qantas strengthens its leadership in aviation with these upgrades. By modernizing Boeing 737 cabins and introducing next-generation aircraft, the airline ensures passengers enjoy a premium flying experience.
