Vietnam Airlines will shift all Phnom Penh operations to Techo International Airport on September 9, 2025. Therefore, passengers traveling between Phnom Penh and Vietnam will begin using the new hub. The move strengthens Cambodia’s aviation growth and ensures travelers experience safer and faster journeys. Moreover, the decision supports Cambodia’s plan to modernize its transport infrastructure and expand global connectivity.

Techo International Airport lies 20 kilometers south of Phnom Penh’s downtown. However, it remains easy to reach by new roads and expanded transfer services. Authorities built the airport under ICAO 4F standards, and thus it can handle the world’s largest aircraft. Furthermore, passengers will benefit from modern check-in counters, advanced security systems, and wider services. Although the airport stands 30 kilometers farther than Phnom Penh International, travel time will only range from 40 to 50 minutes. In addition, ground transfers will include expanded taxis, airport shuttles, and app-based ride options.

Vietnam Airlines passengers should carefully confirm the airport code on their tickets. Nevertheless, all flights have shifted from PNH to KTI with flight numbers unchanged. Tickets printed before the deadline still remain valid, and travelers can also request new itineraries. Therefore, passengers should arrive at least three hours before departure and follow the latest updates. This preparation will help ensure a smooth travel experience at the new facility.
