Vietnam Airlines is set to expand its operations in Germany by increasing flights to Munich in 2025. As travel demand rises, the airline aims to enhance connectivity between Germany and Vietnam, making travel more convenient.
Starting in July 2025, Vietnam Airlines will increase its Munich–Hanoi service from two to three weekly flights. Meanwhile, flights to Ho Chi Minh City will continue twice weekly but will operate on different days beginning in May. As a result, passengers will enjoy greater flexibility and improved scheduling options.
To ensure a comfortable journey, the airline will operate these routes using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This modern aircraft offers a premium experience with business, premium economy, and economy seating. Additionally, passengers can benefit from advanced in-flight services designed for long-haul travel.
Since its launch last year, Munich has played a vital role in Vietnam Airlines’ European expansion. The city complements the airline’s existing hubs in Frankfurt, London, and Paris. Furthermore, Vietnam Airlines recently announced Milan as the next addition to its growing European network, strengthening its presence in the region.
Meanwhile, Munich Airport continues to experience significant growth in passenger numbers on Asia-Pacific routes. In 2024, traffic surged by nearly 39%, reaching 2.6 million travelers. During peak summer months, the airport managed 105 weekly departures to Asia, further reinforcing its role as a key international hub.
At the same time, several airlines have expanded Munich’s connections to Asia. Last year, Vietnam Airlines and EVA Air launched new services, increasing access to the region. Moreover, Cathay Pacific will introduce flights this June, making Munich even more accessible for Asian travelers.
With this expansion, Vietnam Airlines reaffirms its commitment to global connectivity. By adding more flights and extending its network, the airline ensures smoother travel between Germany and Vietnam, benefiting both business and leisure passengers.
