Turkish Airlines is rapidly expanding its North American reach in July 2025. As a result, it will operate 28 daily flights to the U.S. and Canada. This bold move strengthens its place among the top five foreign carriers in the region.
Previously, the airline peaked at 26 daily flights. Now, it goes further. Although Turkish Airlines slightly reduced its original plan, its growth remains steady. Furthermore, it continues to outperform many rivals in transatlantic service.
In fact, Istanbul Airport plays a key role in this strategy. It connects passengers to and from major North American cities. Notably, travelers from New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Miami will enjoy more choices. Additionally, Canadian cities like Toronto and Montreal remain part of the network, though with fewer flights.
However, traffic restrictions in Canada limit expansion there. Since Turkish Airlines focuses on connecting traffic, this becomes a challenge. Even so, the airline sees strong demand through its hub. It could explore new partnerships to improve access, although these may face barriers.
Meanwhile, New York JFK remains a top U.S. destination. Turkish Airlines will run four daily flights there during summer. One of these flights arrives and departs in daylight, which improves onward connectivity. As a result, passengers gain faster links to Asia and the Middle East.
Moreover, data shows most travelers connect through Istanbul instead of staying. This highlights the city’s growing role as a transit hub. Consequently, more passengers reach global destinations such as Samarkand, Jeddah, and Tbilisi.
Overall, Turkish Airlines builds a stronger network across North America. By planning smart routes and using Istanbul as a hub, the airline offers unmatched global access. Therefore, its long-haul dominance continues to grow.
