Lufthansa will boost its Saudi operations with a new Riyadh–Munich direct flight starting 27 October 2025. Therefore, this move expands the airline’s Saudi capacity by 50% and reconnects two cities after eight years. Moreover, the route delivers faster travel, with a flight time of only five hours.
Consequently, the schedule includes three weekly flights from Riyadh to Munich on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Passengers depart Riyadh at 6:25 a.m. and land in Munich at 10:25 a.m., enabling smooth onward connections to Europe, North America, and Asia. Likewise, return flights operate on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, departing Munich at 9:45 p.m. and reaching Riyadh early the next morning.
Additionally, Lufthansa will operate the service using the Airbus A350-900, offering 293 seats across Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. Furthermore, Economy fares will start at 1,495 SAR, keeping this premium link within reach for many travelers. At the same time, the timing aligns with Saudi Arabia’s growing role in tourism and trade under Vision 2030. As a result, major events like World Expo 2030 and FIFA Men’s World Cup 2034 will drive more travel demand.
Currently, Lufthansa runs daily Riyadh–Frankfurt flights, and with the Munich addition, passengers gain greater flexibility. Thus, this expansion strengthens Lufthansa’s position in the Middle East while supporting Saudi Arabia’s connectivity goals. Equally, Munich Airport, ranked among the world’s best, offers links to over 130 destinations and delivers a smooth travel experience.
Finally, Munich’s cultural heritage, scenic beauty, and strong economy attract both business and leisure travelers. Consequently, the Riyadh–Munich route ensures greater convenience, more choices, and stronger links between Saudi Arabia and Europe.
