Iberia created aviation history by launching the first Airbus A321XLR passenger flight in Latin America and the Caribbean. As a result, the new route connected Madrid with Santo Domingo, highlighting Iberia’s bold commitment to modern, sustainable air travel. During its inaugural journey, the aircraft took off from Madrid’s Adolfo Suárez Barajas Airport and landed in Santo Domingo after flying nearly 6,700 kilometers. Furthermore, Iberia will continue operating the service twice every week until October 2025, offering travelers reliable transatlantic access with unmatched comfort.

Additionally, Iberia designed the A321XLR with 182 seats, including both Business and Economy cabins. Although the aircraft is smaller than the A330-300 it replaces, it perfectly matches passenger demand.
