The flights will depart from Keflavik International Airport in Iceland to Istanbul Airport, with a travel time of just five and a half hours. Furthermore, the service will operate four times a week. This new route aligns perfectly with Icelandair’s goal of improving connectivity to Asia, ensuring smoother connections for passengers.

Istanbul, a city renowned for its rich history and cultural significance, is growing as a major travel destination. It spans two continents, providing travelers with a fascinating blend of old and new. Moreover, the city’s position as a key business and tourist hub makes it an essential addition to Icelandair’s growing network.

This launch follows an expanded codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines, further strengthening the cooperation between the two airlines. As a result, travelers can now easily connect to a broader range of destinations across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. Icelandair’s improved schedule ensures a quicker and more convenient journey for passengers connecting to Istanbul.

Additionally, this service complements Icelandair’s ongoing strategy to meet the increasing demand for travel between Asia and Iceland. As interest in Iceland grows, this new route will help bring more international visitors, providing a boost to the tourism industry and reinforcing Icelandair’s position in global travel.
