IndiGo Relocates to Terminal 1 for Summer 2025 Surge

IndiGo, India’s top airline, shifted its daily flight operations from Terminal 2 to the newly revamped Terminal 1 at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The airline completed this move in just one day. Now, over 200 IndiGo flights operate daily from Terminal 1, serving more than 40,000 passengers. This shift helps IndiGo meet the increased travel demand during the summer season.

IndiGo moved over 125 daily flights from Terminal 2 to support infrastructure upgrades, including terminal renovations and runway enhancements. The airline ensured passengers were informed by sending emails and SMS notifications. Additional staff guided travelers, making the transition smooth and easy.

This move consolidates IndiGo’s operations in one terminal, improving efficiency and simplifying logistics. Terminal 1 now handles more than 200 flights daily, up from 75. IndiGo’s planning and agility minimized disruptions and ensured passengers had a smooth experience during the transition.

The move also supports essential upgrades, including Terminal 2 renovations and improvements to runway 10/28’s Instrument Landing System (ILS). These upgrades will enhance the airport’s capacity to manage flights during bad weather, ensuring smoother operations.

IndiGo’s decision to move operations to Terminal 1 shows its commitment to high service standards while adapting to industry changes. As the airline prepares for the busy summer season, this move will improve the overall experience for travelers at one of the world’s busiest airports.
