IndiGo has achieved remarkable growth in 2024, focusing on expanding its international network. Consequently, the airline introduced new flights from Bengaluru, connecting the city to popular destinations like Phuket, Bali, and Abu Dhabi. This move clearly reflects IndiGo’s ongoing commitment to enhancing connectivity and meeting the increasing demand for international travel.
In 2024, IndiGo launched 24 new or resumed international routes, marking a significant milestone for India’s largest low-cost carrier. As a result, the airline now operates 292 weekly international flights, providing seamless travel options for both business and leisure travelers. Additionally, IndiGo’s expansion strategy has focused on connecting Indian cities to major global hubs. As such, Bengaluru has become a crucial part of this growth. Now, the city boasts 92 weekly international flights, making it a vital gateway for international travel.
Moreover, IndiGo expanded its operations from Chennai, another key hub in its network. It launched new flights to destinations across Southeast Asia and Sri Lanka. Furthermore, these new routes emphasize the airline’s strategic approach to connecting smaller regional markets to larger international destinations. Notably, IndiGo introduced ATR72 aircraft on the Chennai-Jaffna route, marking its first international turboprop service.
IndiGo also has ambitious plans for the future. Specifically, the airline will begin services to Bishkek in February 2025, signaling its ongoing expansion. With new international routes targeting the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and beyond, IndiGo continues to reshape the landscape of affordable air travel. Additionally, its strong presence in both major metropolitan areas and smaller regional markets further reinforces its commitment to delivering accessible global connectivity for travelers.
