Jetstar Asia has expanded its network with a new route from Singapore to Colombo, Sri Lanka. This new destination offers travelers an exciting opportunity to visit Sri Lanka’s vibrant culture and beautiful landscapes. Additionally, Jetstar is the only low-cost carrier on this route, making it the most affordable option for budget-conscious travelers.
The inaugural flight, 3K333, departed Singapore’s Changi Airport at 09:15 and used an Airbus A320-200. After a smooth 3.5-hour flight, it arrived in Colombo at 10:14. Similarly, the return flight, 3K334, departed Colombo at 11:52 and is set to arrive in Singapore at 18:02. Furthermore, Jetstar’s fleet includes 11 Airbus A320-200s, each with 180 seats arranged in a one-class layout. These aircraft typically serve short-haul routes such as Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, and Manila.
Jetstar Asia will operate this new route five times a week. Therefore, travelers can choose from morning and evening flights for their convenience. On Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, Flight 3K331 departs Singapore at 21:00, reaching Colombo at 22:30. The return flight departs Colombo at 23:30 and arrives in Singapore the following day at 06:15. On Thursday and Sunday, Flight 3K333 departs Singapore at 08:55, while the return flight leaves Colombo at 11:25.
This new service will provide over 90,000 low-cost seats annually. As a result, it opens up a fresh destination for Singaporeans and attracts more tourists and business travelers to the region. Given Sri Lanka’s goal of welcoming three million visitors by 2025, this route is well-timed to boost tourism. Moreover, it provides seamless connections with Jetstar’s wider network across Southeast Asia and Australia.
In addition to the Colombo service, Jetstar Asia has resumed flights to Medan, Indonesia, further expanding its reach. With its affordable fares and growing network, Jetstar Asia continues to make travel more accessible, especially for those looking to explore new destinations.
