Jetstar Expands Network With New Routes And Cheaper Fares

Jetstar has announced its biggest expansion in New Zealand and trans-Tasman markets. Moreover, the airline plans new routes, more flights, and an upgraded fleet to give travelers affordable choices. As a result, Jetstar strengthens its role in boosting tourism and business travel across the region.

Starting in June 2026, Jetstar will introduce a seasonal BrisbaneQueenstown service. In addition, the route will align with the ski season to capture high demand. Furthermore, the airline will launch a daily Hamilton–Christchurch connection in December 2025. Consequently, these services will link major regions and create thousands of new seats. Therefore, travelers will enjoy cheaper and more flexible journeys.

Alongside the new services, Jetstar will also raise flight frequencies on busy routes. For example, travelers will find more daily options between Auckland, Christchurch, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Dunedin. As a result, the added capacity will deliver hundreds of thousands of extra seats annually. Consequently, passengers will experience smoother connections for both holidays and business trips.

Meanwhile, Jetstar will station another A320 aircraft in Auckland to manage higher demand. In turn, this will increase its New Zealand fleet to nine planes. Moreover, the expansion ensures stronger performance and reliable schedules. Therefore, the fleet growth highlights Jetstar’s strategy to scale operations while focusing on affordability.

Additionally, the expansion will strengthen trans-Tasman travel. Double-daily flights between Auckland and Brisbane will now improve access to Asia. As a result, travelers can connect faster to Tokyo, Seoul, and Bangkok. Hence, Jetstar positions itself as a stronger link between New Zealand, Australia, and Asia.

To celebrate the growth, Jetstar has introduced a fare sale. For instance, domestic fares start at NZD $42, while international fares begin at NZD $147. Consequently, travelers gain affordable opportunities to explore new routes. Moreover, these fares will support growth in New Zealand’s tourism industry.
