Jetstar Expands Routes with New Gold Coast-Darwin Flights

Jetstar will launch a direct Gold Coast-Darwin route on June 26, 2025, further strengthening its domestic network. This new service will significantly improve connectivity between the Northern Territory and Queensland while also supporting tourism and business travel.

The airline plans to operate the route four times a week using its Airbus A320 fleet. As a result, this addition will reduce travel time and eliminate the need for layovers in major hubs like Sydney or Brisbane. By offering a direct connection, Jetstar aims to provide greater convenience for both business and leisure travelers.

Gold Coast, known for its stunning beaches and world-class theme parks, remains a top destination for domestic and international tourists. Meanwhile, Darwin, with its rich indigenous culture and proximity to breathtaking natural attractions, will benefit from increased visitor arrivals. Tourism experts predict that this route will not only attract more travelers but also boost economic activity in both regions.

Moreover, Jetstar’s expansion reflects its strong commitment to enhancing domestic air travel. The airline’s growing network aligns with Australia’s post-pandemic recovery, where airlines increasingly focus on regional connectivity. At the same time, the use of the Airbus A320 supports cost-effective operations, ensuring affordable fares for passengers.

This new route will also have a positive impact on the economy. It is expected to increase tourism revenue, create jobs, and drive higher airport activity. Since the Northern Territory government has prioritized improving air connectivity, this launch is a strategic move for Jetstar.

With demand for domestic flights continuing to rise, Jetstar’s decision signals confidence in the future of Australian aviation. Travelers will now have a faster and more direct way to explore two of the country’s most popular destinations. Given the growing competition in the airline industry, more domestic routes may soon follow, further strengthening Australia’s air travel network.
