Kazakhstan boosts its global presence with 19 new international air routes. These routes connect the country with Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Kazakhstan now strengthens its travel network and expands access across regions.
In 2024, the country’s transport sector recorded strong growth. Airlines moved 14.7 million passengers, a 10% rise from last year. Airports handled 29.7 million travelers, marking a 14% increase. These gains reflect the rising demand for air travel. Kazakhstan responded by investing in infrastructure and new routes.
The government opened new terminals in Almaty, Kyzylorda, and Shymkent. It also started building airports in Katon-Karagai, Zaisan, and Kendirli. The railway sector moved 21 million passengers, showing a 3.9% growth. Officials launched five new rail projects and upgraded 125 stations.
Road transport also improved across Kazakhstan. Crews repaired 12,000 kilometers of roads across the country. Key highways such as Karagandy-Almaty and Atyrau-Astrakhan saw major upgrades. These projects improved travel safety and reduced transport time.
Freight transport posted impressive growth in 2024. Transit volumes rose by 6%, while the Trans-Caspian route moved 4.5 million tons. That route alone grew by 62%, proving its regional importance.
Officials aim to boost tourism and investment by improving connectivity. They plan to finish the Center-West highway quickly and expand the Europe-China route. Kazakhstan now positions itself as a major regional hub with these developments.
