KLM has introduced a new Premium Comfort Class to its Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft, offering passengers more space and luxury. This expansion follows the growing trend among global airlines to provide a more comfortable and private alternative to economy class. Now, travelers can enjoy enhanced comfort on long-haul flights, thanks to this newly added premium economy cabin.
Over the past two years, KLM has steadily upgraded its fleet, equipping its Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 777 aircraft with Premium Comfort Class. The airline’s maintenance team completed the conversion of the 787 fleet about a year and a half ago. Recently, all of KLM’s 777 aircraft also received this upgrade, ensuring that passengers on 54 planes now have the option to choose Premium Comfort.
This class provides up to seven extra inches of legroom compared to economy. As a result, long-haul travelers experience a notable improvement in comfort. Depending on the aircraft, Premium Comfort seats are available in numbers ranging from 21 to 28. For instance, the 787-10 features the highest capacity, with 28 Premium Comfort seats, offering travelers even more options for a relaxing journey.
In addition, passengers in Premium Comfort benefit from modern conveniences, including in-seat power outlets to charge their devices. Furthermore, they enjoy a dedicated 13.3-inch entertainment screen to enhance their in-flight experience. Depending on the fare type, travelers can check in either one or two 50-lb checked bags, adding more convenience to their journey.
While upgrading its fleet, KLM has also expanded its global network by adding new routes and codeshare agreements. This expansion includes direct flights to new destinations, further solidifying KLM’s reputation as a leading airline in international travel.
