LATAM Airlines has earned recognition as the most sustainable airline in the Americas. The company secured a top spot in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2025, ranking fifth worldwide for environmental and social excellence. Every year, the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook evaluates companies based on their environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) performance. For the 2025 edition, over 7,690 companies were analyzed. However, only 780 met the strict criteria. Among them, just six airlines made the list. Notably, LATAM Airlines ranked highest in the Americas, proving its dedication to sustainability.

To drive positive change, LATAM Airlines follows a clear sustainability strategy focusing on three key areas: Climate Change, Circular Economy, and Shared Value. As part of this approach, the company aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Additionally, it plans to eliminate single-use plastics and transition to a zero-waste-to-landfill model. Because of these efforts, LATAM Airlines continues to lead the transition toward greener aviation.

Over the years, the airline has made remarkable progress in reducing its environmental impact. Since 2020, it has offset over 1.9 million tons of CO2. Moreover, it has supported the conservation of 300,000 hectares of Colombian flooded savannas, which play a key role in carbon sequestration. At the same time, LATAM Airlines has cut single-use plastics by 97%, removing over 1,700 tons from its operations.

Through its “Avión Solidario” program, LATAM Airlines provides free transport for medical and humanitarian missions across South America. Since 2021, it has helped over 6,660 people and delivered 779 tons of essential cargo. As a result, the airline has strengthened its role as a socially responsible organization.
