A tragic collision at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has led to a federal lawsuit. As a result, passengers injured in the accident are taking legal action against Japan Airlines and Delta Air Lines. The lawsuit claims negligence after a Japan Airlines flight struck a stationary Delta plane on February 5, 2025.
The crash occurred near the S Concourse and southern maintenance hangars around 10:17 a.m. At that moment, the Japan Airlines aircraft, arriving from Tokyo, hit the tail of a parked Delta Boeing 737. Meanwhile, the Delta plane was preparing for departure with 142 passengers on board. Consequently, the impact caused injuries, leading to legal claims from affected travelers.
The lawsuit highlights the severity of the injuries sustained by the passengers. Due to the force of the impact, the Delta aircraft jolted, creating a twisting motion that led to spinal sprains and other serious injuries. In particular, the plaintiffs, including a married couple and their two young children, claim the incident caused lasting physical and emotional trauma.
Furthermore, legal experts argue that the lawsuit could set a precedent for aviation safety accountability. Investigators are now working to determine whether pilot error, miscommunication, or other factors led to the crash. In the meantime, the National Transportation Safety Board’s findings will play a key role in the case.
Additionally, the law firm representing the injured passengers has handled major aviation cases in the past. Given their experience, they believe the evidence will establish responsibility for the crash. As the lawsuit progresses, more details may emerge about the events that led to the accident. Ultimately, this case could have significant implications for airline safety regulations and passenger rights.
