Frequent flyers will now enjoy enhanced benefits through the integration of ITA Airways’ Volare program with Lufthansa Group’s Miles & More. Passengers can earn and redeem points across both airline networks, increasing flexibility and travel value. With millions of loyalty members across both programs, this shift will significantly improve the passenger experience. Travelers will gain more options for flights, rewards, and seamless travel experiences.

Starting March 2025, passengers will also benefit from exclusive lounge access at key airports. ITA Airways customers will enjoy Lufthansa Group’s premium lounges, while Lufthansa passengers will access ITA Airways’ facilities. This upgrade will offer greater comfort during travel. Additionally, ITA Airways will move its operations to Lufthansa terminals in Frankfurt and Munich, streamlining connections and reducing transit times. Codeshare agreements will further expand route options, allowing smoother travel between major international hubs.

Another major shift involves ITA Airways’ transition from the SkyTeam alliance to Star Alliance. This strategic move strengthens its global presence, granting passengers broader international connectivity. The transition will complete by early 2026, ensuring a smooth shift without disrupting customer benefits.
