Travelers at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) now enjoy an enhanced security experience, thanks to cutting-edge CT X-ray technology from the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA). This new system currently operates on one screening line at both domestic and international checkpoints. It allows passengers to keep approved liquids, gels, medical devices, and larger electronics like laptops in their carry-on luggage during security screening.
Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, located in the vibrant city of Montreal, serves as a major hub for both domestic and international flights. As one of Canada’s busiest airports, it offers a wide range of services and amenities, making travel more enjoyable for passengers. The airport connects millions of travelers to various global destinations each year.
This upgrade places YUL among the first Canadian airports to implement this innovative CT X-ray technology. By integrating this system, the airport enhances the screening process significantly. Passengers can move through security more quickly without sacrificing their safety or convenience.
Furthermore, this advanced technology provides security personnel with three-dimensional images. These images can rotate, which allows for more accurate identification of potential threats. As a result, CATSA aims to improve overall passenger security while streamlining the process.
In collaboration with Aéroports de Montréal, CATSA plans to expand the CT X-ray system to additional screening lines in the coming years. This phased rollout will further strengthen the airport’s security framework. Ultimately, Montréal-Trudeau International Airport continues to prioritize passenger safety while delivering a smooth travel experience.
