More Flights, More Convenience: American Airlines Now Flies to London Five Times Daily!

American Airlines is making a bold move this summer by launching five nonstop flights daily between Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and London Heathrow (LHR). This expansion, starting March 30, 2025, sets a new record for the airline’s long-haul operations. As demand for transatlantic travel grows, American Airlines is stepping up to meet passenger needs.

The increase in flights aligns with the seasonal shift to IATA’s summer schedule. At the same time, it fills the gap left by British Airways, which will pause its DFW-Heathrow route on March 29. Since British Airways will not resume service until late October, American Airlines is capitalizing on the opportunity to strengthen its presence. Consequently, travelers will have more flexibility and better connectivity.

This level of frequency has not been seen on any American Airlines international route for over a decade. Previously, the airline operated a similar schedule in 2012, when four daily flights connected DFW and Heathrow. Now, the fifth daily flight will continue until October 25. However, American Airlines will scale back to four daily flights after British Airways resumes service. Additionally, some schedule adjustments in May and June will temporarily reduce the frequency to four flights on select days.

American Airlines is positioning this route as a key pillar of its transatlantic strategy. With over 70 long-haul international routes this summer, the airline is focusing heavily on its DFW hub. Moreover, other key routes, including flights from New York, Charlotte, and Chicago to Heathrow, will maintain strong schedules. Nevertheless, none will match the DFW-Heathrow frequency.

Historically, New York JFK held the record for the most American Airlines flights to London, with six daily services in 2008. Now, DFW is taking center stage. With five daily flights, American Airlines is cementing its dominance on this critical transatlantic route. As a result, travelers will enjoy more choices, better schedules, and increased convenience.
