Southwest Airlines has announced an extension of its flight schedule, allowing customers to book travel through April 7, 2025. This expansion includes new international destinations, additional flights for football events, and a broader range of redeye services, all aimed at improving flexibility and travel options for passengers.
As Nashville\’s largest airline, Southwest is enhancing its offerings with the introduction of new weekly international routes. Starting March 8, 2025, the airline will operate Saturday flights connecting:
- Nashville to Cabo San Lucas/Los Cabos, Mexico*
- Nashville to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic*
These new international routes will supplement the current service between Nashville and Cancun. Additionally, Southwest plans to initiate Saturday service from Sacramento to Puerto Vallarta on the same date.
Introduction of Nonstop Routes
Commencing March 6, 2025, Southwest will also introduce nonstop flights on specific routes:
- Austin to Milwaukee (Weekdays)
- Austin to Reno, Nevada (Less than daily)
- Nashville to Indianapolis (Daily)
- Sacramento, California to Tucson, Arizona (Weekends)
As the official airline for the Southeastern Conference (SEC), Southwest is excited to enhance its services for SEC fans traveling to support their teams. Alongside previously announced flights catering to football supporters, new connections have been added between Florida and Austin in anticipation of a significant SEC game. Flights are now available for booking from Tampa, Florida to Austin on November 7 and November 10.
In response to customer interest, the airline is increasing services for college and professional football games with newly added flights between:
- Dallas and Lubbock, Texas (Game on November 9)
- Omaha, Nebraska and Los Angeles (LAX) (Game on November 16)
- Columbus, Ohio and Chicago (Midway) (Game on November 16)
- Cleveland and New Orleans for a Sunday game on November 17
Southwest is also preparing to assist attendees of one of the world\’s largest rodeos held annually in Las Vegas by adding seven flights specifically designed for rodeo fans traveling between December 5 and December 15.
Overnight Travel Options
With the launch of overnight flights scheduled for February 13, 2025, this latest schedule extension introduces more redeye options for travelers. Starting March 6, 2025, passengers will have access to overnight services departing from Denver, San Diego, and Sacramento in addition to previously announced routes from Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
